california: im planning a few snowboarding trips this year but i dont know when it starts snowing in california? bigbear gets snow when?? whens the earliest time i could go and still have there be a good amount of snow on the ground?|||You can expect the snow to really start falling in November and December. Some years we can see good snowfall as early as October or as late as January. It's hard to tell really. Snow is forecasted for tonight and tomorrow in California (today is Wednesday Sept 18th) but we don't expect more than an inch or so and it won't last. Almost all of the major resorts have snowmaking now so you can be assured that they'll be open by the Christmas Holidays at the latest. I'd say the earliest you could be assured to see good snow is mid December. Some places, like Boreal in Tahoe, usually open in early November but it'll be on all man made snow and won't be very good.|||during the winter duh!!! (my favorite time of year! i love ice skating not snowboarding!!) but you can also try Boreal or lake tahoe, but i suggest boreal cuz its better and newer!|||I LIVE IN APPLE VALLEY RITE NEAR BB.
