In California, when you are driving how do you treat a solid yellow line on the roadway? What about a broken yellow line? And also, how would you treat a solid with a broken yellow line?|||A yellow line is always found on your left on American roadways. On multilane freeways the lane furthest to the left has a solid yellow line on its left side. On a two lane road the center lane is yellow so that it will be on the left no matter which direction you are driving. A solid yellow line means do not cross (to pass for example) The left lane of multilane roads is solid because you cannot cross it without going in the ditch. A solid yellow line on a two lane road means you cannot pass because visibility is obstructed by a hill, or curve in the road or other obstruction. A broken line means you can cross in order to pass but you must watch for oncoming traffic. If there is a solid line with a broken line, that means the side with the solid line doesn't have visibility to pass, but the side with the broken line does have visibility to pass. One example would be on a curve where you can see around if going in one direction but not if going the other direction.|||A solid yellow line should always be on your left, if you are driving in dense fog or a snow storm, depending where you live, the lines are there to guide drives. Thus the yellow line if it is on your left side, there should be no oncoming traffic infront of you. The broken yellow line designates that you are in a passing zone. you should always pass with caution. The Solid yelow line with a broken yellow line, two part if the broken line is on your side of the road and the solid line is on the other side, then you are in a passing zone. if the yellow line is on the other side and there is a solid line closest to you then you may not pass.|||have you ever driven before??????!!!!!!!!!!! road markings are the same across the country! go to your local DMV and get a copy of your state's rules of the road.
you can cross broken yellows if their is no traffic coming head on. you can cross a broken yellow with a solid if the broken is on your side of the road.|||Just like you do in every other state its a sign of caution.|||You can not cross a solid yellow line.
You can cross a broken yellow line.
If there is a broken line next to a solid line, the traffic on the solid side can not cross the line, but the traffic on the broken side can.|||solid yellow=do not pass
