My friend owns a home in California free and clear. If a credit company is awarded a judgment against her, can she be forced to sell it? She is not currently living in it.
Thanks!|||No, all they can do is garnish wages (if your State allows it), attach bank accounts and file liens on any real property like cars, boats, land and homes.
This would not force you friend to sell the home but it would keep them from selling it without paying the judgment.|||If she is not living in it, it is not her home, rather an asset that she owns. This would make it slightly easier for her creditor to seize the house and sell it.|||no...
