I'm going on vacation to California tomorrow and we will be going to San fransisco, holly wood, pebble beach, nappa, near Huntington beach and other places in northern California. What kinds of clothes should I bring?
I live in nj, so I have no clue what to wear. So far I have jeans, tee shirts, a dress, a skirt, Jean shorts, and some tank tops and jackets. Which things should I bring and what should I leave at home?|||Leave the shorts at home. At this time of year in Calif. capris and jeans are better and more comfortable. Northern Calif. will be about 60 - 70 ish and cooler in the evening so a sweater and a all weather jacket would be good. It may rain. Things to do there are more casual so don't know where you plan to wear a dress or a skirt when traveling there. Even if you go to a very fancy place for dinner, slacks or capris with a dressy top would be suitable.|||Bring a coat and plan to take it off every afternoon. It's always cold in San Francisco but in the south the mornings are chilly and the afternoons are warm. Cali weather is very changeable - you have to dress in layers because you never know what to expect. We also sometimes get rain this time of year so bring an umbrella.|||For the past few days, it's been about 50 degrees in the SF area, so i'd go with more jeans and jackets, and less shorts. It might get warmer inland, closer to Napa, but anywhere near the coast is going to be chilly.|||Looks like you more or less have your bases covered with what you already have. It can get a bit chilly in SF so you may want to bring a warm shirt to wear under the jacket.
