I've prepared the 1099-MISC forms for my independent contractors (this is my first year having them in my business). I know a copy goes to the IRS, but I can't find anything about sending the paper copies to the state (California). Any insight? I'm thinking maybe California gets their information directly from the IRS?|||No need to send. They get info from IRS.|||In Michigan they started requiring copies of the 1099's a couple of years ago. They get submitted with the same form that reports sales tax and payroll withholdings - We have to attach copies of the W-2's and the 1099's...
