Hey there.

I just wanted to know how long does it take to become a resident of California. I've been reading online and people say one year for educational purposes but im not planning on going to school. Some people have told me 6 months if non - educational but i can't find any information.

This has nothing to do with school once again I just need to prove residency, im really hoping its 6 months but if not can someone let me know please|||It depends upon what you're trying to do. You could go to the State of California website, and find out for yourself. We're wondering why you did not do that initially.|||Get your green card.|||You are a resident of California (or any state) the moment you are in the state with the intent to remain permanently. In other words, immediately. You can register to vote immediately. You have 10 days in which to apply for a California drivers license. (For educational purposes, you have to BE a resident for over a year to qualify for resident tuition.)
