Hey there. I just wanted to know how long does it take to become a resident of California. I've been reading online and people say one year for educational purposes but im not planning on going to school. Some people have told me 6 months if non - educational but i can't find any information. In other words, immediately. You can register to vote immediately. You have 10 days in which to apply for a California drivers license. (For educational purposes, you have to BE a resident for over a year to qualify for resident tuition.)
