Im planning on taking my girlfriend to california in a month or so. We were talking about going to a theme park and the beach. I just don't know what theme park to go to. We are both 19 if that matters lol. But can anyone tell me which is the best or which one you recommend? Thanks|||I would recommend choice 1) or 2) depending on what your "style" is.
1) Six Flags Magic Mountain for thrill rides, absolutely. It has monster roller coasters and a water park. It's adrenaline junky type fun. X2 and Terminator are just a couple of the most extreme rides in the country.
2) Disneyland/California Adventure is not as "thrilling" but it is still fun and in a way, it is more romantic. You can go on some rides that are fun (like Pirates of the Caribbean or Indiana Jones) but don't scare you or might make you toss your lunch. Disneyland also has a nice, classy atmosphere and a good fireworks show. The people that work there treat you fantastic. It still has some thrilling rides like the Tower of Terror, California Screamin' and the Maliboomer. Plus, it has some decent restaurants, although the prices are steep. It can get crowded, but if you relax and don't get impatient, it's really enjoyable. You just have to accept that it's busy.
3) Knott's Berry Farm is OK, but it doesn't have as many great rides as Magic Mountain and it doesn't have as much charisma as Disneyland. It is a good park with a variety of rides and things to do, but nothing like the first two I mentioned. I haven't been to the water park, but several people have told me it isn't that great.
4) Universal Studios is only average IMO. It's barely worth going to. There are only a few rides. The shows are decent and some things are kind of outdated. I think they are replacing some of it, though. Backdraft was neat, but old. Waterworld? Interesting, but the movie wasn't exactly a box office smash. The most entertaining "ride" is really a simulator (The Simpsons). The mummy ride was too short.|||Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia California definitely. Six Flags Magic Mountain has 17 amazing roller coasters, and a water park. I highly recommend buying a Flash Pass Gold or Platinum for 2, so you can make the best out of your day. Also, I recommend going on a week day if you do not want to buy the flash pass. The Flash Pass makes your wait time much less so you get to go on more rides in less amount of time.
DisneyLand is way overrated and doesn't have many good rides and Knotts Berry Farm is very fun but not as good as Six Flags.
Have fun!|||It depends on where in Cali you are going to. If in So. Cal you should totally go to 6 Flags Magic Mountain. It has THE best rides in Cali, it's close to the beach (it's in Valencia), and if you want a great lunch, drive 15 minutes west to Saugus, CA and go to Tim Tom's hot dogs.
If you're going further south then hit up Knots Berry Farm. Avoid Disney Land. You're 19, not 9 ;)
If you're going to be in the Bay area go to Great America in Santa Clara, or head north for an hour and hit up 6 Flags Marine World in Vallejo.|||Six Flags if you want to have fun with rides and attractions.
Disneyland if you want it to be a memorable date and especially romantic at night.|||knott's berry farm in Buena Park.
it's right by the beach|||Six Flags Magic Mountain
