Could state agencies collapse like schools, hospitals, universities, sheriff departments, prisons and public transportation agencies? Could California go bankrupt? Could real unemployment in California reach 20 percent (12 percent now)? Could lawlessness raise crime and murder rates by triple if prisions and police departments close shop?|||California has been living on its credit card, just like its liberal brother New York. Both will pay very dearly for their excess and living beyond their means for many of the last 40 years (especially the last 10). That will not stop them from shaking their cup in the direction of the Federal govt. Both states are liberal bastions who spend heavily on entitlements they cannot, and never could afford. When times are good they spend like drunken sailors, when times are bad, they don't stop the spending, hence they are totally going down the toilet for years to come.
