california: What are some cheap, yet nice places in California that aren't too crowded. Good beaches and waves are a plus.|||Love CA! l lived in SD for a few years. Here are some places that might be of interest. Monterey Bay is also very beautiful; there is plenty to do there. I have stayed in some really nice places here and there are just all kinds of activities to do. They also have some really good restaurants can鈥檛 beat the seafood. The aquarium is fun for all ages and one of the best in the country. There are several wineries and wonderful parks nearby. Kayaking in the bay is beautiful or taking a boat trip, the animals come up to the boat to check you out. This whole area of coast is just breathtaking! Also in the area is Carmel By the Sea. The views of the ocean cannot be beat! Also if the two of you enjoy the outdoors this is the place to be! Go whale watching it is amazing. There are also some really good places to hike and some great parks! You are also close to Hearst Castle which is always a great time. Love this place, if you look you can find bargins on your stay here and the surfing is great! The boardwalk is very cool, an old tradition here. There is plenty to do at night, and the beach is right there! There are also some really nice areas around Santa Cruz. Check out Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Mission Beach, and Torey Pines. There is a ton of stuff to do in SD and the surrondig areas and there is hotels that fit all budgets you just have to look!!! Contact the vistiors center they can get you coupons and stuff. Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach are nice beaches! There are a lot of outdoor activities to do in this area and they have some really nice beaches. That whole area of the coast is just neat! www.bodegabay.com Cresent City is way up north but a nice place. Beaches were clean, pretty nice waves, and not very crowded at all. There are a few things to do around town and there is a lot of parks and nature stuff in the area. Good resturants on the beach, eat and go! Some places have almost black sand which is cool. www.northerncalifornia.net I would try looking up north you can get some really good deals, the water is a little colder and the weather is different than the south but, very pretty and you can find some very quiet spots!
