We are planning to move to California in about a year and we want to find the ideal place for us. We want to live close to the beach, the farthest about 20 min away, but somewhere that is real green and tropical. Any ideas? Thanx in advance!|||If you're looking for tropical, you should try Hawaii or Florida. California is not at all a tropical state.

I have seen a great deal of the state of California (mostly the souther half) and have never seen any parts that were green and tropical. So. CA is very dry and even desert like. It is also highly populated with little to no green spaces left. I mostly saw houses upon houses built on just about every square inch of land. Northern CA is equally as populated, but the temperatures are cooler. San Fran is a pretty city, but it's certainly not tropical. Also, if you want to live any where close to a beach in the state of CA be prepared to pay at least $800K for a home.

Good luck! |||Good luck with that, So. Cali beach area towns are not green and tropical. They are mostly brown from heat and dry conditions and lots of smog from the large cities.
