I got a banded California kingsnake about 2 months ago and she always ate without a problem. Then my boyfriend decided to get another one 3 weeks ago, and put him in the same tank, now my first one won't eat at all. She's eaten once, right when we first got him, but not at all since. She shed right before we got him so I know it's not that. How long can she go without eating? Should we separate them?|||If you don't want to come home and find one of your snakes gone or two dead snake then separate those two right now - kingsnakes are highly cannibalistic. More so than most other snakes. And your snake is not eating because it's stressed. Kingsnakes are solitary animals, it pretty cruel to force them into an enclosed space together.
Good luck.|||You are very lucky that you still have 2 kingsnakes! You cannot house them together - ever, in the wild they consume snakes and wont think twice about eating each other. Your fist snake is highly stressed and this suppress the immune system, she can become very ill - very fast.
You can learn more about Kingsnakes here: http://reptile-parrots.com/forums/forumd鈥?/a>|||i would keep them separate will be easier for them to eat with out any issues if you have a male and a female and want to breed them you can put them together after they have been cycled and put them in for a few days at a time
